Trust In Aspire

Melanoma is a variation of skin cancer that can be fatal if left untreated. If a cancerous lesion is too large or too advanced to be treated by Mohs surgery, a dermatologist may decide that surgical excision is the most appropriate solution. During a full surgical excision, a trained surgeon removes both the cancerous tumor and the skin cells surrounding it. This ensures the melanoma is completely eradicated and unable to spread to other areas of the body.

The Procedure

Surgical excisions are completed in the comfort of our relaxed office setting. Using a local anesthetic and a scalpel, the doctor completely removes the affected area before repairing it with sutures. Slightly more invasive than other skin lesion removal methods, its success rate is also incredibly high.

Taking The Next Steps

No matter which type of cancer treatment or tumor removal method you require, you’ll be in
the hands of Aspire Dermatology’s team of experts, who are trained to eradicate skin cancer in all of its forms. We’ll work with you on an individual basis to come up with an effective treatment plan that will require as little invasive surgery as possible. Should we find that skin
cancer has spread to other areas of the body, our team is also prepared to discuss further treatment options, which may include additional surgical procedures, lymph node biopsies, and chemotherapy.
